The brothers of gay fraternity Delta Phi Upsilon were in Atlanta last weekend for their Atlanta Expansion meeting. I was not in attendance because I was out of town but I was definitely there in spirit. I thought it was important to show that we have our own greek organizations and that there is an alternative for brothers interested in joining but find themselves unwelcome in traditional fraternities.

After the tabloid media coverage of the MIAKA's these brothers are a breath of fresh air. Keep up the good work guys!

Shout out to fellow blogger and Delta Terrance O. Gilbert.

Perhaps if there had been such a group when I was in college, I would have pledged. In those days, at my school, if you were Black and gay, you just joined the Alphas, Kappas, Sigmas or Q's.

This not the only Black Gay Fratternity that exists.

Darian,
Please do profiles on Gamma Mu Phi and Kappa Psi Kappa as well. These are also National Black Gay Fraternities with chapters all across the US.

Quan,

Thanks for commenting. It was not my intention to exclude any of the other fraternities. The Deltas just happened to be in my city last weekend and I'm friends with a member, hence my decision to cover their fraternity.

I would love to learn more about Gamma Mu Phi and Kappa Psi Kappa as well as my readers.

Darian,

Thanks for the shout out. Let me just say that I love Atlanta with all my heart, and I am so excited my organization is re-establishing and capitalizing on our presence in Atlanta. No we are not the only organization, but we were the first and in MY person opinion the best out there. Deltas are not born, but created....Love ya boi...

Kudos!!!!You have a first class fraternity here. However remember that your founders were seeking an eduation when they founded your great fraternity. Memebership should be limited only to those who have and seek an education. With those principles in mind. Society will listen to your causes and people like myself will be eager to join. Again keep up the good work. MLS
