Can I just say how much I love B. Scott...no seriously ! We're all used to seeing how funny and over the top B is in his videos, well today he shows us a more serious side. I think all of us can relate to the issue he deals with in this video. How many of you have felt the sting of rejection from family or friends just because of your sexuality? I'm sure you all remember former gay activist and Venus magazine publisher Charlene Cothran's story. Once a lesbian now a reformed heterosexual...stop laughing, she really believes she's straight! She made a controversial appearance on the religious-themed program 700 Club and continued to spread her false message of change, meanwhile becoming the poster girl for the extremist christian right wing.

A group af activists in Atlanta got together and produced a wonderful video response to the 700 Club broadcast. Check out both videos above.

Hi everyone ! I'm in New York City and D.C. on business until the end of the week so postings are going to be on the light side...sorry. However, I did want to share with you a new video from my latest internet addiction, the lovely B. Scott. I introduced B's videos on my site for the first time last week. If you haven't seen his work then I urge you to check out his site.

In this video he takes on the topic of "reformed homosexuals". This is something that I've written about here many times and ironically we both agree that sexual orientation is innate and cannot be changed. I know there's an Exodus movement in this country that's determined to provide electro shock therapy, extensive prayer, counseling, brainwashing and whatever else they can in an attempt to change something that is fixed and given by God, but it's clearly a waste of time.

B. Scott's commentary is dead on and provides inspiration to those who are struggling with their sexuality as only he can. Enjoy!

Hey guys ! So I had one of the worst cases of writer's block that I've ever experienced last night. So in an attempt not to become one of those bloggers who updates every other month I decide to create a special video blog for you. It's light hearted and downright silly! It was recorded after a really long and frustrating day, so it became a much needed release for me. I hope that it entertains and brings a smile to your face. Last week I posted a story recapping the memorial day event Sizzle in Miami . For those of you who are unaware, Sizzle attracts thousands of Black gay men from all over to party in one of the hottest cities in the country.

I make a valiant effort not to restrict the comments that readers leave since I value everyone's opinion and I welcome the dialogue. But last weekend as a result of my post, dozens of "anonymous" Black women wrote exactly what they thought about Black gay men and it was not pretty. I usually ignore those who leave hateful comments and don't even have the courage to leave their name, but I knew that so many other women shared their views and it didn't sit well with me.

After reading their thoughts I got together with two Black women and discussed their perception of Black gay men and their reaction to the comments that were left by their peers. The ending is abrupt due to technical difficulties and my waiting to the last minute to get this done, but check it out and make sure to leave a comment.

The weather is starting to warm up in Atlanta and summer is quickly approaching, so that means all of the hard work that was put in in gyms all over the city will be displayed over the next few months as people start to wear less.

I caught a glimpse of what's to come as I strolled through Piedmont Park on Sunday with my good friends Tramaine , Lonnell , and Riley. Piedmont Park has become the official gathering place for Black gays and lesbians on Sundays. I'd never experienced Piedmont on a Sunday because I'm usually at work, so I only lived vicariously through all of the stories I'd heard.

As I approached the park it was hard to believe that it was not Black Pride weekend because there were hundreds of beautiful men and women all over the place. To say that I was a little overwhelmed would be an understatement. I remember years ago when I first began to deal with the truth of my sexuality and how isolated I felt from the rest of the world, if only I could have been dropped off in the middle of Piedmont Park on a Sunday I would have realized that I was not alone! LOL!

Now of course you know I had my camera in my pocket(never leave home without it). Watch Tramaine and Lonnell give you the lowdown on one of the gayest places in Atlanta in the clip above.

Today I turn 27 years old. I remember a time when I was the youngest person in a room, but that's no longer the case. I can't believe that I'm getting closer to the big 3-0 . I'm so blessed and today I just want to thank God for life . I've experienced joy and great sadness in my 27 years, but as Miss Ceiley in The Color Purple would say, "but dear God I'm here!"

I recorded a special birthday video blog for you guys, it's been a while since I've posted a new video and I thought this would be a perfect time to do so. It's unrehearsed and over the top, so it's the real me. Thanks to everyone who has left me b'day wishes on myspace. Enjoy the video!

Hey Guys! I've reposted one of my first video blogs for abovethelife.com for you to view. Some of you may have already seen this video, but I felt a need to repost it after the recent homophobic attacks on our community. In this video I talk about the importance of living life authentically.

I attended a wonderful discussion on the effects of homophobia last night and I've sat in front of my computer for the past 45 minutes attempting to convey my experience through words with no luck.

I do have quite a lot to say on the subject and I'm sure I will by this time next week. I will be speaking with John Amaechi in a few days and posting a new video blog dealing with this issue.

I recently made the 2 hour trip home to Montgomery to visit my family for a couple of days. I don't usually stay for very long because I don't want to give my family any time to start acting crazy and Alabama is not at the top of my list of places to visit.

During my time there I paid a visit to my old high school, I can hardly believe that my 10 year high school reunion is coming up. Once I entered the dance department old memories of sweat, tears, and dreams began to resurface. It was here that my passion for performing began to cultivate.

One of my teachers talked me into teaching class to his current students and I couldn't refuse. It's so funny to me when I go back home and I teach or I talk to students about my experiences in the business and they treat me like I'm a star.

It's actually not until I talk to people who aspire to do the things that I've done and go to the places where I've been that I stop and reflect on my professional accomplishments. Usually I'm always working hard to get to the next level and I forget about the goals that I've achieved. The old saying is true "you're only as good as your last gig". Working with Prince and R. Kelly were definitely career highlights for me. Damn just gettng out of Montgomery was an achievement!

Lately I haven't been feeling like a dancer because writing has occupied so much of my time, but for one day the dancer in me resurfaced and it was an amazing feeling. I've posted a clip of the combination I choreographed for class for you guys to view. Be gentle, the kids in the class are young and somewhat lyrical in their dance style, so hip-hop was a challenge. LOL

So to continue with my Dreamgirls theme I've posted my second video blog on the amazing SGL website abovethelife.com appropriately titled "I Am Changing".

With the new year upon us I'm sure we all have resolutions and goals that we would like to achieve in 07 and in order to achieve these goals certain changes will have to take place.

Change for me has been the one consistent thing in my life over the years. No matter how uncomfortable it can be it is definitely a neccesary process that we all must go through.

If there is one lesson that I've learned it's that it's not about what happens to you but how you react that's important. So no matter what happens in 07 remember you ultimately have control over how it will affect your life.

I recorded this blog at four in the morning(yeah I waited until the last minute)so if my eyes look a little funny it's just from sleep
deprivation and not alcohol. I look forward to reading your thoughts. Enjoy!
