Congratulations to the entire cast and crew of "Dirty Laundry"! This morning the 39th Annual NAACP Image Award nominees were announced and Dirty Laundry received a nomination for Best Independent Film.
Dirty Laundry is a dramatic-comedy, written and directed by Maurice Jamal, starring Rockmond Dunbar, Loretta Devine, Jennifer Lewis, Terri J Vaughn, and Comedian Sommore. The movie follows a traditional southern family dealing with the return of an estranged son and the many secrets he brings with him. The movie is also the first major Black film to deal with themes of sexuality and orientation.
Dirty Laundry debuted successfully on the big screen this past December in Los Angeles and New York and will debut in select theatres in Atlanta, Washington, DC, and Baltimore on January 18th.
My inbox has been flooded recently with inquires about Dirty Laundry screenings in Atlanta and I'm pleased to post the theater locations for all three cities below. I also would like to point out that Dirty Laundry will be shown in the hood at The Magic Johnson Theater inside Greenbriar Mall in Atlanta. See you at the movies!

I live in Philly and I am clueless as to why Dirty Laundry is not playing here or in Chicago or a number of other big cities. Philly is larger than Baltimore, DC or Atlanta and Philly has a 40% Black population. Do you have any idea why the film was chosen to be shown in such a tiny number of places?
