Janet Jackson's new video "Feedback" was leaked online today hours before it's scheduled world premiere on BET'S 106&Park and everybody's got an opinion about the concept and direction of the video. I'm sure you all know by now I'm a hardcore Janet fan, but I have to be honest and say I was expecting something different. To be honest I was expecting more of what I've seen from Janet in the past and she chose to give us something different which is a good thing. The problem is we've been conditioned to seeing a lack of creativity in videos and have just settled for ice grills and stripper poles and this new video has caught everyone off guard.

The more I watch it the more I fall in love with it. All I have to say is work the ponytail Janet and the red suit! Get into the video above and let me know what you think.

2 words-- FIRE GIL!!!! The head choreographer and artistic director for janet's last few albums. Where is Tina Landon?

I am one of Janet's biggest fans, but this video is boo-boo!!

I still love her music though.

yes...i agree! FIRE GIL!
There are so many more brilliant choreographers who can bring it. Tina still could have been around, had she not been around Rene...

Tina still works, she did Ciara's Video promise which would explain the Janet like movements.

But This video is TRASH. I am extremely nervous and she should have stuck to what we know in order to make a comeback. She should have exchanged note pads with Mariah.

Nonetheless I'll be buying my usual 5 copies of the CD.

I just need a tour at this point

Actually, Mia Michaels, Ed Moore, and Gil Duodulao are the choreographers for this video. My guess is Gil did most of the staging (which is his strength), and Mia and Ed collaborated on the actual dancing.

I'll be the voice of dissent here and say that I absolutely LOVE this video. A feminist reading of the video reveals Janet as creator of the Universe using her cosmic womb to give birth to all life.

In addition, we get the avant garde choreography--which tells a STORY; it doesn't SIMPLY invite us to shake our collective booties). So yeah, count me as loving it. And I suspect in about 10-20 years, most others will recognize how revolutionary it was as well.

I agree with Mr. Jones...

This video is probably a bit too advanced for the average mtv/bet video whore who was probably waiting to see janet drop and pick up bottles with her ass cheeks, or something to that effect. I really thought it was a thought-provoking and handles itself well in terms of janet's overall body of work.

It might not cater to the masses but she's made her money already and can do what she wants now.

Wouldn't it be nice if an artist could please EVERYONE? Ain't gonna happen folks. So, take it for what it is. Damn, I don't understand why people have such a negative opinion and attitude when they couldn't do any better. Take it for what it's worth or keep your damn comments to yourself. LOL. Fat chance of that happening. LOL, LOL, LOL The vid is hot. Yes, I when I heard the song, I had an ideal on what the video would look like, but you know what??? Its not my song, and I didn't create it. PERIOD!!!
