An update to the erroneous statement made by televangelist Pat Robertson yesterday that Haiti's earthquake was a result of a "pact with the devil". Haitian Ambassador to the United States Raymond Joseph appeared on the Rachel Maddow show last night and was visibly upset by Robertson's insensitive and vicious claim.

Robertson's remarks quickly became the #1 and #2 trending topic on Twitter yesterday, but it looks like Ambassador Joseph's response may have conservatives pretty upset as he doesn't hold back on educating Robertson and his ilk on the role Haiti played in American history.

It’s good that he condemned Pat Robertson. Those comments were rather hurtful and demeaning. But you know what? I really think people like Pat Robertson need to be ignored. He’s a set-in-his-ways old fashioned right-winged old biased man. His comments show his lack of civility and disregard for human pain and suffering. That’s dreadful.

My thinking is, I may not like you….and I may even despise you…but if you’re facing pain and hurt in your life, I feel compassion for your plight. Pat Robertson can never rise to that level. So, when the likes of him and Rush Limbaugh, and other thoughtless make off the wall remarks, I don’t think anybody should give them one bit of attention. They should just be ignored.

The Haitian ambassador's comments were more positively powerful then the negativity that Pat Robertson spewed. The Haitian revolution allowing america to purchase 13 states west of the mississippi is history that we americans are not taught. Mr. Robertson is a racist old fool, trying to hold on to his fake christian legitimacy.
