Recording artist and Broadway star (The Color Purple) Fantasia is bring her life to the small screen with a new reality show titled "Fantasia For Real" set to debut on VH1 on January 11. VH1 is granting an early peek at the first episode that includes Fantasia's relatives, including her unemployed brother Teeny who dominates much of the first episode appropriately titled "No More Freebies".

Initially when I heard Fantasia was set to star in her own reality show I was a little worried about how she would be presented, but I must say the first episode is well done and I'm looking forward to tuning in weekly.

We often forget that stars are human beings who deal with many of the same issues as we do. Fantasia For Real humanizes an already down to earth and talented woman who also happens to be a friend to the gays.

I now have multiple reasons to love this gifted artist after getting a glimpse into her life offstage. There is no reason why she shouldn't be a household name.

Get into the premiere episode in the clip below:

I love Fantasia.
Hopefully, she will learn that you don't have to bring your ENTIRE family with you on your way to the top. It's onething to assist...It's another thing to support a lazy bum (Teeky I see you).
