Now this was a sweet surprise. For those of you who'd given up on the cultural phenomenon that is American Idol after Fantasia Barrino won the the title in 2004 (like so many of my friends) you may now have a reason to tune back in and that reason is solely because of the incredibly talented Jermaine Sellers.
You may remember this self-proclaimed "church boy" from the first season of BET's gospel competition Sunday Best in which he became a finalist.
Sellers wowed the judges including guest judge Mary J. Blige with his own rendition of Joan Osborne's (What If God Was) "One Of Us" during the Atlanta auditions and easily won a golden ticket to Hollywood week.
I'm excited about Jermaine's chances and can't imagine him not being apart of the top 20. I should have gotten his autograph when I had the chance because he's certainly about to blow up now.
Let's hope the rumor mill or the Adam Lambert effect from last season doesn't ruin Sellers chances of winning the crown because he is certainly worthy.
