This needed to be done. Fox News Contributor and Columbia University Professor Dr. Marc Lamont Hill slammed conservative talk show host Bill O'Reilly last night in a fiery debate on The O'Reilly Factor regarding the racial component of Michael Jackson's life and career.

Using a much touted Pew study that claimed African-Americans were far more interested in Michael Jackson coverage than white Americans, O'Reilly criticized Jackson's appearance saying, "You don't get to become a black icon by bleaching your skin and having white children".

As expected, O'Reilly also took shots at Al Sharpton's Jackson memorial speech and defended the insensitive and racist Republican NY Congressman Pete King who earlier this week called Jackson a "pervert and pedophile."

It's rare that any guest on The Factor is ever able to get a word in over Bill O'Reilly's screeching, but Marc Lamont Hill manages to do so while making O'Reilly look like the bigot he is.

Phil Donahue said it best, "Just because you raise your voice Billy doesn't make you right."

Get into the debate in the video below:

Get em Dr. Hill.
Sleepin' with kids is NOT a crime- Molesting them is. That is why so many adults are so emotionally disconnected. There should be no sexual tension involved if your heart is pure. Wgat about when boy scouts go camping and roughing it in the woods?

DEAD@ O'Reilly stepping over his words in the very beginning. "Fox News analyst Marc Lamont Hill...(OOP!)... DR. Marc Lamont Hill." That's right, racist. Get it together.

Clearly, all O'Reilly wanted to do was further vilify a dead man. He acted as if he understood NOTHING and was clean out of the potato farms of Idaho. Dumb and ignorant. Why is he still on TV?

Get into O'Reilly. "If he is such an American Black Icon, why did he have his kids with White MEN."

I wish Dr. Hill would have gotten into that. He missed it.

I think that O'Reilly got the best of Dr. Hill in that debate.

I know I am late but, Bill O'Reilly is ignorant. He cannot seem to understand that no matter what color Michael's skin was he was a black man and never denied it. He was a black American Icon and there is nothing he can do to change that. What did he think the black people would do, criticize him and hurt him like the white media did? No, we did not. We truly love Michael Jackson with or without faults. When you love someone you stand by them. I will miss him for some time.
