The awards and nominations keep coming for the cast and creative team of Precious. The Academy Award nominations were announced early this morning and the critically acclaimed film by openly gay black director Lee Daniels scored six nominations including Best Picture. Daniels was also nominated in the Best Director category. He becomes the first out black gay director ever to be nominated for an Academy Award in this category.


Gabourey Sidibe is nominated for Best Leading Actress, along with Oscar favorite Mo'Nique in the Best Supporting Actress category.


Mo'Nique called into The Today Show this morning to share her reaction to her nomination. "The dream continues", beamed Monique to Matt Lauer. Watch the clip below.

Additionally, Morgan Freeman is nominated for his brilliant performance as Nelson Mandela in Invictus and Disney's The Princess & The Frog is nominated for Best Animated Feature.

A who's who roster of stars gathered at Jim Henson Studios in Los Angeles on Monday following the Grammy Awards to record a remake of the 1985 hit We Are The World" for Haiti Relief. This marks the 25th anniversary of the song penned by Lionel Richie and the late Michael Jackson. A few of the celebrities present were Jennifer Hudson, Celine Dion, will.i.am, Trey Songz, Jordin Sparks, Gladys Knight, LL Cool J, and gospel duo Mary Mary.
