It's obvious right wing biblical literalists are shaking in their boots after the recent victories for gay and lesbian couples in Iowa and Vermont. The rabidly anti-gay Focus on The Family founder James Dobson recently admitted that the "religious right is losing the culture wars," and it's becoming increasingly unacceptable in our society to be a homophobic bigot without enduring some sort of backlash.

Let's add Atlanta area pastor "ex-homosexual", and creator of the anti-gay website Gay Christian Movement Watch D.L. Foster to the list of religious extremists who refuse to accept defeat and the reality that equality will always trump bigotry.

In a post titled "Marriage On The Rocks"from earlier this month, Foster points to four reasons why the "gay agenda" (whatever that is) is succeeding:

1. False pastor Rick Warren is now a supporter of homosexual marriage.

2. A counseling major at Eastern Michigan University is kicked out of school for refusing to accept homosexuality as normal as a condition to receiving her credentials.

3. Savior-in-chief Obama adds a gay christian and COGIC Presiding Bishop to his “faith based” slap-chop organization.

4. Homosexual bishop Vickie Gene Robinson tells gays rights activists to play the God card if they want their rights.

But the most telling sign that Foster sees and end to an era when marriage was restricted to heterosexual couples comes courtesy of an exchange with one of his followers in the comment section named Neil.

Neil: Yes, I tend to think it is inevitable but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t still fight it. Abortion “rights” might have been inevitable but that doesn’t mean that thousands or millions wouldn’t have been saved if they were delayed more.

Foster: Right Neil and so true. This is no call to retreat to the hills and pray till Jesus comes, it is a call to war. Goliath wants it. Let's find five smooth stones…

Don't you just love the David and Goliath comparison?

If you're ever wondering what we as black gays and lesbians, and especially those of us who are Christians are up against then you need not look any further than D.L. Foster and Gay Christian Movement Watch. Sadly, this type of biblical hatred is commonplace in the black church today. Poverty, unemployment, lack of education and healthcare, and numerous life threatening diseases primarily affecting African-Americans are no longer the focus. Nope. A gay or lesbian wedding is now the greatest threat to our society.

Just look over Foster's shameful site and you'll see what I mean. George Bush doesn't have anything on his brand of fear mongering. Maybe you didn't get the memo Foster but let me pass it along via Gavin Newsom.

D.L. Foster, first of all, what a name. HOW IRONIC!

Secondly, after reading a lot of his "pastoral" rhetoric and watching his foolery on TV One's "Black Men Revealed," I have concluded that he is one of those men who had been cast out of the gay community, and because of it has built up an insurmountable amount of hate within himself. In response to this inner conflict and turmoil caused by rejection, he has clung to and propagated religious bull in order to get revenge on those gay men who found him undesirable, unattractive, or not good enough to be a part of the scene. POOR THING. He can fight until he drops in a casket, we will win the war.

DL Foster suffers from much intra-personal sorrow and grief. He is obsessed with revenge upon himself; the true homosexual self which he imprisons. His blog and preaching are therapy to calm the demons that possess Foster. His temptation is so great to love and be loved by a male; therefore, he will reach toward extreme antics to calm his inate urge. Foster is NOT an Ex-Homosexual; he's a homosexual in forced remission. I've written once about Foster spewing of hatred toward Ricky Dillard.

I am still amazed at how "christians" have allowed themselves to get so wrapped up and manipulated into "big business" agenda. With all of the shooting, white-collared crime, drugs, extortion, rape, abuse, etc in the world, they can only ban together to try to stop two people from showing love to each other. Two people who are already sleeping together, loving each other and living together.
