Clik Magazine Needs A Few Good Men
The new issue of Clik Magazine is on newsstands everywhere and once again America's number one magazine for black gay/sgl men delivers on it's promise to provide news, entertainment, and fashion for our community on a monthly basis. This month's issue takes a look inside of the numerous black pride events, the rise in bareback sex, hip-hop and r&b's most wanted, new music releases, a candid interview with activist Jonathan Perry, and a look back at Sizzle Miami 2007. A highlight for me this issue was the beautiful photo layout "Harlem World" with photos by Taj Washington and fashion direction by Curtis Davis(as seen above) .
But the event that I'm sure will have a lot of people talking and voting is the competition to find Clik's Top 10 Most Eligible Bachelors for the October issue. Sixty-three finalists have been chosen from hundreds of entries and now it's up to the readers to choose who they think should be in the top 10. Click here to view all of the finalists and vote for your favorites. There's quite a few hotties to choose from but I managed to narrow it down. You can check out my choices in the slideshow below.
In related news, there is a reason why Atlanta is called the black gay mecca and inside of Dwight Powell's new publication Atlanta Life he serves up all of the necessities for navigating gay Atlanta. It's free so pick up a copy!
Ok. I must admit I voted for Timothy and Darryl since I knew them. Also, I enjoyed looking at the eye-candy. But we know nothing about these guys. At least in Essence you got short brief descriptions about the guys they considered eligible bachelors. I guess my thing; are looks the only thing that makes you a "good" man.
ReplyDeleteI'm turning 40 in 2 years and looks only get you in the door with me. Also, what I looked for in a man in my 20s and 30s is so different than what I look for now.
Ain't nothing like have a good-looking, fine, and sexy; but a man with no soul, goals, or ambitions. I guess CLIK will give us a brief description about the top 10 once they've been chosen.
Speaking of CLIK. I was at Atlanta Gay Pride which CLIK happen to have a booth. The people who were working the booths were very unapproachable and not-friendly. I'm very strong on good energy. They did'nt have any. It's amazing all the booths that were worked by blacks were not very inviting.
Like Darian, I watched all the interracial couples during PRIDE. I used to wonder why black men ran over to white men. Now, I see. The whites are relationship oriented. We as a race can't seem to connect on that level. Everybody is looking for the next piece of ass or big dick. Out of the thousands of black gay men in Atlanta, I could'nt find one couple that was in a healthy, loving, respectful, and monogamus relationship
Damn, I never write this much. I guess I just had somethings to get out.
