This is a step in the right direction. Legendary African-American Magazine JET profiles No More Down Low TV, the black LGBT web series hosted by Jonathan Plummer and Jonora McDuffie featured several times on loldarian.com in their January 10, 2011 issue.

From JET Magazine:

The series' executive producer, Earnest Winborne, cast Plummer as a host, along with actress Janora McDuffie. After pitching the series to a TV network, Winborne took his four year journey to the web.

New shows are added monthly, with a topic about the LGBT community, such as bullying of gay and lesbian youths. The premiere show asks if America is ready for an openly gay Black movie star, with actress Wanda Sykes as the example.

Winborne says nomoredownlow.tv can connect its viewers. "I like to call it an online community,"he says. "We want to be considered a TV network eventually."

This mention in JET Magazine should not go unnoticed for several reasons: 1) If I recall correctly (and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) this is only the second time a TV show or topic dealing positively with black LGBT issues has been mentioned in JET, Noah's Arc was the first. 2) No More Down Low TV introduces a side of our community that isn't often portrayed in mainstream black publications. Finally, there's some balance.

Check out the latest episode of No More Down Low TV below and be sure to pick up the January issue of JET Magazine.

It's about time that our community starts recognizing LGBT in a positive light. I recently was surprised to see a few similar LGBT articles mentioned in "Essence" magazine also.
