If you're in Atlanta or planning to visit for MLK Weekend then join the Atlanta LGBT Community for the 9th Annual Bayard Rustin-Audre Lorde Breakfast.

The 9th annual Atlanta Bayard Rustin-Audre Lorde Breakfast will feature a conversation among veteran gay and lesbian organizers about black lgbtq organizing in Atlanta in the 80's and 90's. Participants will also learn about challenges facing Georgia's AIDS Drug Assistance Program, proposed anti-bullying legislation and how they can engage in local advocacy efforts.

The breakfast was founded in 2002 to provide attendees the opportunity to connect before joining the Martin Luther King Jr. March, educate communities about the life and contributions of Bayard Rustin, Audre Lorde and other activists, and enhance mutual support and continued learning among those involved in social justice efforts.

The breakfast is free and open to all. Donations are encouraged.

Following the breakfast we will proceed to the Martin Luther King Jr. March and Rally. We will gather at the designated line-up site on Peachtree and Ellis streets at 12:45 pm.

State Rep. Simone Bell HD 58, GA's first openly lesbian black state legislator will speak at this year's rally representing LGBTQ communities!!! The MLK Rally, near the MLK Center for Non-Violent Social Change, immediately follows the March.
