We may be living in a Beyonce and Rihanna world but that doesn't mean there isn't room for one more diva. Ciara's latest effort Fantasy Ride may have entered the Billboard charts at a disappointing number three, but if her latest single 'Work' and the video that accompanies it is any indication of what's to come the Atlanta diva just might rule the dance floor and the Hot 100 if the gays have anything to do with it.

The video for 'Work' hit the internet earlier today prior to it's television world premiere and it's got the influence of "the kids" all over it. From the Thierry Mugler inspired designs to the flamboyant ballroom -styled choreography, Ciara is obviously doing this one for the gays.

In an interview last month with New York's HX Magazine Ciara offered up some advice to potential Ciara drag queens;

"Well, you got to work it, honey. You got to know how to hit the floor, tip it off, get buck and whoop your head nice and hard. Glam it up, but don’t over-glam it. And just go hard."

Spoken like the fierce woman she is. Watch Ciara go hard in the amazing new video for 'Work' below.

Every female pop star is influenced by gay men to some degree. Some like Beyonce take it to the limit such as Freakum Dress choreographed by Jonte or Mya and her Love Is Like Whoa vogueing performance. I mean I like Ciara a lot but I don't think her song will become a hit because the "gays" like it. The gays also have standards and she has been not putting out superb work. And it shows at the record store. We go hard for Beyonce because Beyonce goes hard as a performer. Ciara needs to find something and stick to it. So she quoting the kids big whoop.

This was so whack to me. It is as if she is FORCING gay "iconicship" on herself.

I think she's fierce. I have to admit, alot of the stuff she is doing (i.e. - whipping the long pony tail, kicking up dust) Beyonce did it first. But I really think Ciara did it better. She is a fierce dancer and that just can not be denied. I'm loving this video.

I'm not really feelin her, never have. She's just average. There is nothing different about her that is stand outish. Beyonce is divalicious, Rihanna makes great tunes and has an edgy look, Mariah Carey can sang, Janet is Janet...
Ciara is just...well...trying too hard.
Furthermore, I think the whole "appealing to the gays" thing is so cliche and overdone now. It used to be that every performer brought her own thing to the table...and for whatever reason gays had an affinity for it. Nowadays these chicks make their albums and contour their images around getting gay fans.

For me it is all about being yourself and making great music. I don't care what genre of music you make.

Ciara just ain't poppin. Never has for me. Nothing is exceptional about her.
