I know there's not many of you out there tuning into BET for quality programming since they've earned a reputation for being exploitive and always a few steps behind the creative team at MTV, but I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for the best with their newest reality show Model City.

Tyra Banks has shown us what it takes for a female model to be on top in the competitive modeling industry, but what does it take for a male model to conquer the modeling industry, and specifically an African-American male model?

For the men of Red Model Management, making it as a high fashion model is not just a dream, it's a struggle. Set in New York City, Model City captures the intensity of trying to make it as an African-American male model. Crazy photo shoots, grueling runway shows, over- the- top parties and strained relationships pave the way to success for these aspiring models.

Let's meet some of my cast favorites:

Ibrahim Baiith

Wendell Lissmore

Makin Curry

Nelson Nieves

It remains to be seen which one if any of these models are openly gay or if BET will have the guts to even address their sexual orientation. Model City is scheduled to air later this year. I know I'll be tuning in. Will you?

Let me first say that these guys are definitely attractive. However, with the host of attractive black men out there I am a bit surprised that these are who they picked. Maybe it is a size/height constraint or possibly the ability to pose that pushed them ahead. IDK

Every single one of these men are beautiful. I'm proud of BET for actually showing something that the public will want to see instead of ghetto shows like Frankie and Neffee or Tiny and Toya.
