There is no denying the massive influence of blogs in today's culture, either you've created your own or there's numerous sites bookmarked on your computer that you check daily. People are no longer dependent on traditional news outlets to receive information. And if you're apart of the LGBT community, so often the issues that impact your life are not considered newsworthy by the mainstream media or are written in an exploitive manner. It can be even worse if you happen to be a gay person of color, you're liable to be rendered invisible altogether.
Yet there's a growing number of black LGBT bloggers who are stepping up to the plate and using their virtual platform to integrate the gay blogosphere largely dominated by white gay men. Bloggers like myself, Rod McCollum of Rod 2.0, Pam Spaulding of Pam's House Blend, DJ Baker of Da Doo Dirty Show, and Clay Cane to name a few. These blogging giants along with many others are committed to keeping the LGBT community informed while simultaneously providing a springboard for black gay visibility, dialogue, and action.
Below is a list of black LGBT blogs that you may frequent and others you may have never heard of. Each blogger is special and brings their own unique perspective to a myriad of issues important to our community. The following list is not comprehensive and some blogs deserving mention may have been omitted. Please feel free to share them in the comment section.
Hopefully this list will grow and become a resource for people who are looking to find information about the experiences of those within the black gay community.

Thank you for this list of sites, most of which I had not heard of. I think there are too many blogs, but I will check out some of these.
Looks like blogs have replaced print media for the black LGBT community. Aside from Swerv, do we have any magazines?

Thank you Darian for this awesome post. Its so nice when someone steps up to the plate to show that we all are "sharing a common vision...pushing toward a world rid of color lines" Its awesome to be on a list along with these other bloggers I adore.

You need a remedial course in Racism 101. Racism is prejudice plus power.
The bottom line is that if white gay bloggers covered the black SGL community there wouldn't be a need for us, but they don't since they are wallowing in unacknowledged white privilege.
Black blogs exist to tell our stories, celebrate our culture and look at issues in the SGL/GLBT community from our perspective.
