I just wanted to take a moment and thank all of you for the comments, e-mails, and phone calls of concern I've received over the past few days. To be honest it has been overwhelming. I can't begin to tell you how much you have lifted my spirit.

To be clear(because now I realize I wasn't on Monday) I will not be shutting this site down. I'm merely forcing myself to take a break this week to work out some stuff in my real life. I thought it would be easy to just disappear for a few days and not write anything, but I'm quickly realizing that I need to write just like I need food and water to survive. So I will return on Monday if not before.

Many of you wanted to know what caused me to go on hiatus and over the years I've shared much about my personal life on this blog, but I've learned that some things shouldn't be shared with the blogosphere and should remain private. I hope that you can respect that.

I started this site because I realized that God had given me a gift and a purpose to fulfill. I'm not a quitter, never have been and never will be, but I am human and sometimes I have to fight for myself and my family first.

Did you really think there would ever be a day when this PROUD BLACK GAY MAN wasn't LIVING OUT LOUD? I have no choice...It's in my DNA!

I'll be back soon.

Love,
Darian

Darian, we must respect your privacy. When we read your message it was very ambiguous and left us wondering what was going on. Was it the letter that you wrote; or was it any thing political? The mind is an interesting organ. It prepares us for the big let down even though; we may read too much into it! You keep your personal life personal, and we will respect that. It is so encouraging to know that you may be back this Monday. GOD'S Speed! He will get you through this also! Keep that in mind!

Take all the time you need dear. Sometimes we need to take a mental break and get clear. We've all been there at some point.
