Every now and then I experience a moment when I feel extremely proud to be apart of of the black gay community. Watching Keith Boykin and Sheryl Lee Ralph represent our community with such intelligence, passion, and dignity on BET's Meet The Faith is definitely one of those moments. This is one video that you will want to share with your friends and family. Thanks once again Jeff.

Update: Well things are heating up over on BET's message board. Check it out for yourself here .

Tremendous discussion. I think the fear or hate of gay people comes from both a patriarchical society and also quotes used from the bible to deny the human rights of a family member. I think we are in a time where we need to get back to human morality. I think it is unacceptable to mistreat our fellow human beings based on who they are and not on what they do. Martin said injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere. It is on the basis of how we treat each other that will determine our existence on this earth as a species. I think human rights is the final frontier.

Mr. Jordan did a bad job defending the bible and seems to be unaware of what the bible states about homosexuality. Yes, it is a sin, but he did not bring forth quantitative evidence as he should....I never did trust what he says and this just prove he is a fake, in my humble opinion. BET should have at least brought on the show reputable and knowledgeable pastor's to discuss this matter, but I guess they picked a weak "minister" just to boost the gay agenda and make them look good in the debate.

@Captain: So a bishop is a fake because they don't speak something that feeds your self-loathing mind?

The evidence you speak of is flawed and "weak"! No it is NOT a sin!Defending the bible does NOT mean distorting bible verses to make it seem like homosexuality is wrong which it is NOT! Don't get upset because the anti-gay agenda look bad and lost! You say BET should have brought knowledgable pastor to discuss the issue. Yes i agree, but it should have bible thelogian who has study the original text which doesn't support the "it's sin" argument!
So this program was good to see, and yes the debate made us look good! GET OVER IT!

He is a fake because he doesn't defend the doctrine of Christ or the new covenant in salvation.

Bible theologians are no good either because most of them aren't Chrstians themselves. Homosexuality have always been a sin and never accepted by God, anywhere. If God accepted it, then show me where he blessed the union of two men or women in the bible, or any ancient text. You simply cannot find it. God works in families, man with woman, that is the only two genders that exist. I think that the creator of humanity SHOULD know what works best in the ongoing nature of humanity. Homosexuality just doesn't fit.

@Captain: God has accepted homosexuality, the evidence is in nature, that's why it's not unnatural! The bible just like the Quran does NOT represent a perfect. Books like that are contradictory, and God is NOT contradicting! The institution of Marriage has change over the centuries, because of hetersexuals! Gay people just want the same, and the benefits of having our relationships recognize!

I disagree...100%. How can homosexuality be natural if heterosexuality exist?

June 26, 2007 9:45 PM

<$BlogCommentAuthor$> said...

@Captain: Well because they both co-exist together. Both heterosexuality and homosexuality are present in nature, and for humankind have strong biological influences. It's all beautiful to God!

That is an incorrect answer. I think you need to take some classes at a school somewhere.

@Captain: Speak for yourself! I gae you the best answer i could for a question that makes NO sense.

You ask "how can homosexuality be natural if hetersexuality exist? They both exist, your question really makes no sense, so receive the best that could give you.

Speaking of classes, you could use some to ask good question. Both exist for humankind from GOD!

Its amazing how much you guys feed into the captain's ignorance. What I've learn if you give life to the ignorant things people say or behave, then you're giving them a plaform to exist. Don't acknowledge the captain and he'll go away. THINK: He's the only "straight" guy responding to a gay blogger website. Apparently, there some internal demons he's dealing with. People preach and loath the things about themselves that they hate the most. I saw a picture of him and can see why he's on this site, he needs to feel important and seeks validation. If he's such a chrisitian, then find somewhere else to spit your toxins. MERZ
