Ok so I know I might regret this post later but I'm going to write it anyway. I stepped on the scale this morning and was horrified to find out that I'm not losing any weight(as a result of walking the park 2 to 3 times a week) but I've actually gained two more pounds! Right now I'm at 185.5 pounds. All I can see is stepping on the scale in the near future and seeing the 185 pounds increase to 200 pounds. Bare with me because I'm freaking out! I've never weighed this much in my adult life. I've always been able to eat what I wanted without worrying about packing on the pounds. Is it because I'm getting older or maybe because I'm not dancing as much as I did before?

I'm 5'9 and at 185 pounds I'm considered overweight for my height. The funny thing is that I'm still trim up top but once you get to my lower body it's all ass and legs!
I think this is where all of the extra weight is going. My new love interest doesn't seem to mind but I do.

I've never been able to commit to an exercise regimen at a gym so that's out of the question. Although my new love interest is motivating me, he could sell thousands of copies of those muscle magazines if he were on the cover, but I digress.

I need your advice on how I can change my eating habits so I can lose at least 10 pounds over the next four weeks. I don't cook and I hate salads and vegetables, but I do love McDonalds. Help!

The easiest way to lose weight is

1) do cardiovascular exercise (running, walking, swimming) at least 3-4 times a week for 45 minutes
2) limit your intake of fatty foods, sugars, and carbohydrates - don't completely avoid carbohydrates, just be careful not to have it too often. When you do, try to eat complex carbohydrates: wheat instead of white bread, sweet potatoes instead of baked potatoes.

There are other fad and gimmick diets but these two methods together are a time-tested and sustainable weight loss plan.

When you start an exercise program, it's not unusual to put on few pounds of muscle before you start to lose weight from lost fat.

OMG! Darian, stay the hell away from Mcdonalds. Yeah, i love it too, but it comes with a price
I'm 124, but i don't want to end up in the 130s. My mom always saying im not fat, but mind always thinking i have to make sure im not. For you, stay aways from fatty foods like [mcdonalds once every two weeks], less sugarly snacks try some fruit. Your weight should is important.

As black gay men that's a nightmare. Hell, someone ring the alarm!

Darian,

I am livid with you. We sat in Lenox mall, and had lunch together, and you remember the convo we had. The weight is the least of your concerns. You actually look great. I just spoke with a young man today, and all he eats is fast food, which is leading to probems with his gall bladder, and digestion. Not to mention premature aging, hyper tension, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and early ugly onset. You should rent the movie "Super Size Me" this will help you put down the McDonalds. I know that shit can be addictive. I am battling a bit of it myself. Hell, I will cook for you, and teach you how to cook. I care for you that much. Darian please, please, please start drinking water. Water is essential to life here on Earth. Call me asap, do yo remember my number?
ok later then....whew.

I tried to run this afternoon in Pedmont Park and my schins started burning! I think I'm gonna stick with walking for the time being.

I was going to write my own post about it, but decided to vent on you page. :)

I am 5'6 and 150lbs. Generally, I am at a healthy weight, but I have always been 135lbs. My once 6 pack is now a round belly.

Even though MOST of the time it is flat, and general people would still think I am skinny, some of my friends have seen that I have gotten so called "fat".

For some reason, mentally, everyone calling me fat in a joking matter is effecting me, even though I don't want to admit it to them.

I am trying...
I have cut back on my fast food intake. I have been dancing for an event, running every sunday and increasing it more days. Fuzzy has been bringing food with a lot more vegtables and chicken is a regular besides eating burgers like I used to.

I don't eat sweets, chips, or anything really fattening.

It just feels like what I'm eating is just maintaining my weight, and not getting rid of it. Now I'm getting stressed out over it, and that is NOT ME! I have never been an exercise person, so trying to get into is a challenge but I try.

I just wish this weight would go down, and I see results so that I can keep at it.

Just venting, reading the comments here have helped. Just know that I know how u feel, and motivate you to keep going!
