Every now and then I come across a song that does a little bit more than makes me want to get up and dance, it provokes a feeling that I've only felt during my most intimate moments with God. Very few artists that are on heavy rotation on the radio or on MTV have that special gift, India Arie is one of few people that come to mind. Whenever I feel disconnected spiritually I put on "God Is Real" from her Voyage to India album and all is well again.

But a few years ago as I was taking a lyrical dance class at the Tremaine Dance Convention , and I was introduced to the voice and a beautiful message in a song called "Proud" by British Artist
Heather Small .

If you're like me sometimes you want great lyrical content to go along with the hot beats of Timbaland, Scott Storch, and Swiss Beats. Heather's music is not hip hop, but like India her music feeds the soul, definitely my soul.

Thanks to my friend Rod for reminding me about this wonderful song and artist.

I've posted the video for you to watch. May it feed your soul like it has fed mine.

You know I agree with you. There are songs out there that I can move to and feel but there aren't many out there that move you. I like to be moved and thats why I listen to gospel and jazz. Those types of music tend to move me a bit more than other types.
