So the highlight of my day was supposed to be attending a taping of the Tyra Banks show here in L.A. at CBS Studios. Those of you who know me personally know that it’s apart of my nightly routine to watch Tyra on the Oxygen network before I turn in to go to sleep, so you can only imagine how excited I was to attend a live taping.

I arrived at the studio with my good friend Jonathan and his boss Adrienne around 1:30 p.m. to the sight of an extremely long line that went all the way down the block, apparently we weren’t the only fans of the show. Still I wasn’t discouraged, my energy was high and in a few minutes I would be in the presence of supermodel, tv host, diva, Tyra Banks.

Fast forward 2 hours later, we’re still standing in line, the sun is beaming down on our black faces, we’re hungry, the girls who took the show’s instructions to wear “club attire”, actually look like they should be working on Santa Monica Boulevard instead of attending the show are no longer entertaining, and the line is not moving. I think it’s safe to say that I’m over Ms. Banks and her staff by this time!

After nearly 3 hours of waiting we entered the studio gates only to be told that the audience had been filled to capacity and we were not guaranteed seats. Now you know a b***h was hot at this point ! We then became the Tyra show rejects! (not really...but we definitely had the feeling we were not in the “popular group”.....scars from grade school I guess)

But they did give us free cold pizza and soda, you can’t beat free food hot or cold!

Eventually, we did get inside and the beautiful Tyra walked the runway in all of her fabulousness . The show’s topic was polygamous relationships. Interesting topic, but the dialogue only scratched the surface of why people enter into these relationships.

I was really disappointed in how shallow the show seemed, she never really got into the “meat” of the topic.

Props to Dr. Michelle Callahan , this sista is fierce!

Overall, I could have stayed at home in my bed and enjoyed the show on TV minus the waiting and the California heat.

Go to tyrashow.com to find out when the show will air.

I was really excited about the show at first. Then it lost its glamour when I realized that Tyra brings every topic back to herself- even though she has admitted to not experiencing much in life, with the exception of being a mean girl, then getting picked on, living broke in Paris (doesn't sound too bad- I mean she is in Paris), and fighting with Naomi Campbell. I think the average everyday Joe/Jane has more real world experience. Sorry you had to wait in line and eat cold pizza. But you see the light! :)

P.S. Do you still watch the show?

BOY!!!!! YOU LIKE THAT MESS THAT DIVERTS PEOPLE FROM WATCHING ELLEN.

She seems to lack SOO DAMN MUCH Now I love Ms. Banks and appreciates ANTM to the FULLEST, and especially her self esteem camp. BUT OH HELL NO!!!! I hope they cancel her show, she's trying to be too Oprah, and she's not accomplishing.

I want to read a book about her life including her relationships. the ones Karrine Steffans alluded to in one article, and the ones with the women. COME ON TYRA PUT DOWN THE DAMN MIC AND PICK UP A PEN. (Damn I'd write it for her, LOL)
