A few months ago I came across a blog wwritten by a 16 year old student named Marz from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I was impressed by the content on his blog and the maturity he posessed at such a young age, he struck me as somewhat of an old soul.

Nothing he had written previously could have prepared me for the emotional journey he took me on after reading his post entitled "I Hate Being Gay". I have pasted his words below for you to read and ponder. I think early in my coming to terms with being a same gender loving man I experienced some of these feelings, I thank God I'm in a much different place now.

I will leave you with this prayer that Marz was taught to pray by a minister at his church in an attempt to drive the "spirit of homosexuality" out of him. " Lord, give me the desire to hate the things I love".

I SECOND THAT!

Very in touch with himself, opinionated, and lyrical. When I first started blogging, long posts scared me away and his was the very first long post that I read and you can't keep me from reading his blog now! he's the man :-)

He is pretty a pretty enlightening young man. He makes my old ass think about things. And I know exactly how he feels because I had similar feelings when I was 16.
