Living Out Loud with Darian

Today at 10:45 A.M. pacific time I witnessed a national disgrace take place on CNN when our President urged the senate and the american people to vote in favor of writing discrimination into our constitution. I couldn't help but think about what kind of world I would be living in if the majority had it's way during the civil rights era when my people worked to overturn laws that provided them with second class citizenship.

It goes without saying that the reason this issue is on the table again is to further divide our country and to distract us from the real problems that this administration has no solutions for. It literally made me sick to hear such hatred and outright discrimination come from his mouth and in the same sentence say "may God bless you".

According to the latest CNN Gallup Poll it's clearly obvious who is spearheading the amendment to the constitution, republican conservatives. If America is truly the great country that we say it is, then now is the time that the President, Senate, and the American public do the right thing and extend equality to all of it's citizens regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation.
