Rosa sat so Martin could walk

Martin walked so Barack could run

Barack has won so our children can fly

I never thought such a thing would be possible in America. What a year this has been! It reminds me of when Nelson Mandela became the first black president of South Africa. It was such an emotional time then. And it is such an emotional time for me today to witness this moment in history. I'm not an American but I know many many people outside of the US have been waiting for this moment. Yes Barack Obama is well-spoken, articulate, poised and whatnot, but more than that I was just so excited by the fact that he's black and I wanted to see this black man in the White House.

This is an amazing moment, but it's ironic that while we see progress in terms of race, we are still stuck on sexuality issues. I talk about this my blog, http://kclarkscorner.blogspot.com/

Check it out.
