I first came across the Craig Lewis(their first names combined) Band last year after they sent me a video of their rendition of Fantasia's "I'm Here" from The Color Purple and I was blown away. There was not a single person that I came in contact with during that time that I did not show their video to. There is no other artist on radio(that I can think of) that has the vocal range, style, and power that these two men have.

I wasn't surprised to learn after reading their myspace profile that they'd once been signed by L.A. Reid but were shelved because the industry didn't know what to do with them. Funny, I remember hearing Alicia Keys tell a similar story of her early struggle to be taken seriously by record executives and look at her now.

It's time for real music and real singers to make a comeback(*cue Jennifer Hudson here*). I'm a fan of the Craig Lewis Band not only because they're extremely gifted artists, but because they're also from Atlanta. People assume that talent can only be found in New York and L.A., but the south is filled with talented people waiting for their big break.
