Have you guys seen the new black gay magazine Pulse? I'm somewhat embarassed that I'd not heard about the magazine until a copy landed in my hands during my stroll through the park last weekend. Well let me tell you it's a page turner and the photos and layout is absolutely stunning. Pulse is under the direction of editor-in-chief Byron Barnes and published by Gay Men of African Descent, a non profit organization geared towards empowering black gay men and preventing HIV/AIDS in the black community.
The current issue has contributions from such well known writers as Staceyann Chinn, Keith Boykin, Michael Gipson, and Kevin E. Taylor just to name a few. In 96 pages the magazine covers topics ranging from politics to health, arts and culture, fashion, food, and travel. Some magazines are heavy on the eye candy and soft on the literary content, thankfully Pulse is heavy on both. I particularly enjoyed the article written by fellow Clik Magazine writer Michael Gipson on life on lockdown, get into it.
But I couldn't resist sharing the beautiful photos from inside showcasing some of the most beautiful models I think I've ever seen...oh and the clothes aren't bad either. Pulse is absolutely free and you can get your free copy by e-mailing pulse@pulsemag.org . You can also view the entire issue online here .
