Over the weekend I had the pleasure of spending time with my good friend Stan at his home in Nashville for his 37th birthday, aka Legend's Ball. He's the only person I know that celebrates his birthday over the course of 3 days! He had an itinerary for the entire weekend and had friends come into town from all over the country to celebrate his birth.

Since Atlanta is so centrally located I've been able to drive and visit a lot of my friends that I would not normally get a chance to see if I were still living in LA or New York. The 4 hour drive was definitely worth it for many different reasons that I won't go into here, but I will say there's nothing like a beautiful black southern man and there was plenty in Nashville.

Just take a look at the pics above, they speak for themselves. If you ever get to Nashville make sure you stop by Opryland, I know- I can't believe I was there either!

The country music capital of the world, there were cowboy hats and boots, and to my surprise a community of SGL men who didn't have the luxury of gay city life, but who managed to create their own community of love, acceptance, and support.

Thanks for a wonderful weekend Stan. Next time I promise I'll leave my computer at home and help you clean up after the party is over.

OPRYLAND. That's too close to Oprahland. I swore you were going to talk about this cult/clan of Oprah worshippers. (Although some gay men are Oprah worshippers, so Oprahland could be New York then. WHATEVER LOL.)
