The L.A. based In The Meantime men's group has continued their billboard campaign in the black community with two new billboards shown above, "The lives of black gay men matter to God" and "Heads up young brothers you are the future". I have to say that I have become a raving fan of this organization. Not only because I was apart of this organization when I lived in L.A. , but because they are unafraid to be visible in a community who are aware SGL blacks exist within the community, but will only tolerate us as long as we're silent.

Well director Jeffrey King and his members have decided to "act up" and their doing so by placing the pro gay billboards right in front of West Angeles C.O.G.I.C. , home of Bishop Charles E. Blake and his ten thousand plus congregation.

What I would give to attend service this Sunday and to walk out onto the street to hear all the church ladies in their best Sunday hats gossiping about these billboards!

I would love to hear Bishop's thoughts, maybe I'll send him an e-mail and ask for a statement. We'll see if I get a response.

To be continued...

YES to In the Meantime! After seeing stunts and shows like this, I feel bad for not being able to dedicate more time to the organization.

I'll be down there this weekend to see for myself. Like you said, genius! Hopefully a bold statement like this WILL get people talking....maybe inspire a few of the many gay and bisexual members that go there to speak out?

That would be nice.
