Recently I came across an amazing blog written by a brotha named Ryan on myspace. In this blog Ryan examines the complexities of being both black and same gender loving in America.

Often times we are expected by heterosexual African Americans to choose which part of our identity is more important than the other, or which struggle we're going to align ourselves with, I choose both.

I could never articulate the content in Ryan's blog as well as he did, so I will let you read it for yourself.

MY FUTURE TATTOO IS SO GOING TO LOOK LIKE THAT EXCEPT THE RAINBOW IS GOING TO BE INSIDE THE AFRICA AND IT'S GOING TO SAY SOMETHING DEEP IN SWAHILI.
