When I started my blog it was important to me that I discussed issues that were relevant to the lives of black same gender loving people, it was never my intent to display gossip or attack people for having opposing views, until the words of JIMI IZRAEL landed in my inbox.
Jimi is a self proclaimed heterosexual who is more than a little upset with the success of Keith Boykin and Jasmyne Cannick's success in cancelling the LifeBeat concert last month in New York with homophobic artists Beenie Man and TKO. Hell, he's actually upset with the gay community as a whole for no longer staying silent and fighting for the rights other Americans have and take for granted.
He and Jasmyne have participated in a "war of words" over the past few days and it's been everything but pretty.
I can't even begin to say how much of an asshole this man is, and I'm actually cutting him some slack!
He writes from a "straight" male perspective but he gives me a messy queen all day long!
When I was reading his words I conjured up a hyper masculine image of how I thought he would look in my head, only to be shocked to see the effeminate Jimi in the picture posted above.
He is an example of internalized homophobia at work. Have you ever heard the saying "the one who is screaming faggot the loudest usually is"?
I know I might get some grief for this post, maybe even from Jimi himself( I say bring it on!). His uninformed opinions about us matched with his own issues is a dangerous combination. I'll just let you read his post and you can form your own opinion, I think you already know how I feel.
Jasmyne Cannick vs Jimi Izrael Hot. Black. Lesbian. Action

Anytime a black man smiles he's obviously being effeminate. Jesus. My bad.
Thanks for provingn my point. And thanks for reading.
All the best.

One last thing:
In this particular discussion, I am careful not to use the word "faggot" or "fag", as both get to the way, in ancient times, gays were burned. You suggest to you readers that I use the word, and that's not accurate. I have in the past and, recognizing I have no rights to the word, I've tried to eliminate it from my vocab. But the word does appear on the site, and if that offends you or others, then you certainly have my apology.
I don't mind the insults: it's catty, juvenile--but typical. Just get the facts straight and spell my name right.
Cheers.

I've written my post and said everything that I have to say about you Jimi and I'm moving on. I refuse to waste anymore of my precious energy on your foolishness.
You continue to do you and I will do the same. Just don't be surprised when you say some more off the wall sh** and you get called on it.
Cheers

LOL!
I have had the pleasure of being a subject in one of Jimi's posts as well as meeting him (in passing).
My opinion?
I do not have one!
Good post!
